Hello, my name is Nicole Linderman.  I am your child's First Grade Teacher.  Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in a small town called Cuba, New York.  I went to college at Saint Bonaventure University where I got my teaching degree in elementary education.  My first teaching position was in third grade right out of college in Phoenix, Arizona.  After one year out west, I moved here to Virginia Beach and got a teaching job at Corporate Landing Elementary in second grade. I did one year there and then transferred to Bettie F. Williams Elementary where I taught first grade for two years.  I love teaching children how to read and knew that one day I would get my Master's in Reading.  I got married to an awesome Army guy in 2001 while I was teaching here at the beach.  Once Karl and I got married , the Army moved us several times, I got my Master's in Reading, and taught third grade for two years in  Chesterfield County Public Schools.  With a two-year old at home and another baby on the way, I decided to be a full-time mommy and stay home to raise my babies. I  did a lot of volunteering in their schools, always staying connected to education.  The Army brought us back to Virginia Beach in 2012 so my husband could take command of 11th Transportation Battalion here at Fort Story. My son Ross is now a Freshman  at Cox High School and my daughter Katie is a 6th grader at Great Neck Middle School.  Prior to teaching First Grade last year, I had the opportunity to work part-time as the PALS teacher here at JBD.  I am thrilled to be here again this year teaching  your first grader.  I am looking forward to a fabulous school year!!!
